Abstract

A fully on-chip transformer-based feedback CMOS power oscillator is presented. Using only one on-chip transformer to reduce Si substrate loss of RF feedback, matching and bias networks, a maximum DC-to-RF conversion efficiency of ∼66% with an output RF power of ∼15.33 dBm and a phase noise of ∼−113 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset from carrier 2.45 GHz is achieved.
