Abstract

Research Article| August 01 2017 On Becoming a Student of Vietnamese History Hue-Tam Ho Tai Hue-Tam Ho Tai Hue-Tam Ho Tai is Kenneth T. Young Professor of Sino-Vietnamese History, Emerita at Harvard University, where she began teaching in 1980. Her areas of interest include social and cultural history. She is the author of Millenarianism and Peasant Politics in Vietnam (Harvard University Press, 1983), Radicalism and the Origins of the Vietnamese Revolution (Harvard University Press, 1992), and Passion, Betrayal, and Revolution in Colonial Saigon (University of California Press, 2010). A complete list of her publications is provided at the end of this special collection. Her current research is on popular religion in Vietnam, specifically the cult of Hồ Chí Minh and the Guan Gong procession in Sam Mountain.
