Abstract

A numerable number of similarity measures for fuzzy sets, Pythagorean fuzzy sets, soft sets, fuzzy soft sets, and other extended sets have been proposed in the literature and used in various research fields of science and engineering such as clustering techniques, econometrics, data science, decision making, medical diagnosis, etc. In the present communication, two different types of similarity measures (arithmetic/ trigonometric) for picture fuzzy soft sets (PFSSs) have been proposed along with their weighted versions and proof of their validity. Further, based on the proposed similarity measures for the picture fuzzy soft sets, a novel methodology has been presented for solving the selection problem of decision making. A numerical and case-based problem of selecting the best banking site has been presented for the illustration of the proposed methodology.
