Abstract

Web sites accessibility is a basic requirement to protect everyone’s equal right of accessing the information in information society, especially it is a vital way that all kinds of vulnerable groups access information and acquire services from web sites. In the design process, no enough attention has been paid to educational web accessibility. After explaining the relation and the importance of web accessibility and some kinds of vulnerable groups, this article introduces status of educational web accessibility in China and puts forward the concept of educational web accessibility design, universal design firstly; secondly, proposes the four fundamental principles in educational web design; lastly, it gives out a design model of educational web accessibility and basic design steps. Through those efforts of design concept, principles and model of educational web accessibility, the levels of educational web accessibility will be improved.
