Abstract
A new combined (thermal-collisional) mechanism of recombination is proposed. The associated capture cross section is calculated. The electric field ranges where this mechanism comes into play and begins to dominate over the Lax cascade mechanism are established. The calculations are performed for n-type samples with different concentrations N0 of neutral impurity atoms and different degrees of compensation K.
