Abstract
The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca through the DR-BoB Horizon 2020 European Project no. 696114/2016 is currently implementing a pilot demonstration project in the University buildings for energy monitoring and targeting along with a Demand Response (DR) program in load curve control. The DR hardware will consist in an energy and power metering system that will be functional before February 2017. A software interface equipped with DR optimization techniques will be added, so as to test the load curve control effectiveness, being thus the first demonstration project in Romania, even if time of use tariffs were recently eliminated. The paper presents all the preparations for the pilot demonstration site, the hypothesis used in the Demand Response algorithm, the expected results and as well the current status on the field at European and worldwide level.
