OLTENIA ȘI PATRIMONIUL SĂU IMATERIAL UNESCO

Abstract

Oltenia is an ethnographical area richly reprezented at the level of intangible cultural heritage elements recognised by UNESCO. Among the living heritage elements practiced in Oltenia are Horezu pottey, the art of the romanian blouse with embroidery on the shoulder, the weaving techniques of Oltenia Carpets, the ritual dance of Caluș. The ritual dance for alms which is practiced at funerals is specific for our region and for neighboring areas of Oltenia an is entered into the National Register of heritage elements.
