Abstract

The cover picture shows how the deviation from the classical Mumm rearrangement, induced by a primary-to-secondary amine swap in the Ugi four-component reaction, gives the possibility to chemists to discover novel synthetic strategies and to explore uncharted territories in the chemical space. The replacement of a primary amine with a secondary one is therefore like leaving the old road for a new one. Details are presented in the Microreview by G. C. Tron on p. 1849 ff. The author thanks A. Massarotti for his contribution in designing the cover picture.
