Abstract
In the article the III Congress of Lithuania’s historians was described. The author presents the development of historical science in Lithuania in the interwar period as well as in exile and after regaining independence. Both previous scientific congresses concerning the history of Lithuania were also described. The first one was held in Vilnius in 2005, the second one took place in Klaipeda in 2009. The III Congress of Lithuania’s historians was held 26–29 September 2013 in Šiauliai. The author describes in detail the course of the conference as well as characterizes activities of each section. The three congresses which have already taken place allowed to draw conclusions and formulate both scientific and organizational postulates.
