Abstract

The aim of the work is to analyze the energy structure with the specification of renewable energy sources in terms of its exploitation. The share of all branches of the power industry producing "green" energy in Poland was summarized, along with a discussion of the inconveniences related to the use of such systems, which result from external factors. The prospects for the construction of new biomass-fired CHP plants were also discussed. On this basis, a comparative analysis was carried out in terms of carbon dioxide emissions for an electric car powered by a straw-fired CHP plant and vehicles with a combustion unit. The research clearly showed that despite the straw burning process, the value of carbon dioxide emissions is significantly lower than in the case of a conventional vehicle. Contributing significantly to the positive impact on the natural environment.
