Abstract

The U.S. Naval Oceanographic Office has published two special reports outlining the tools and techniques for surveying the world's oceans from two divergent vantage points—outer space or the ocean depths.The publications are Microwave Observations of the Ocean Surface, SP‐152 (292 pp.), prepared by the office's Spacecraft Oceanography Project, and Manned Submersibles and Underwater Surveying, SP‐153 (156 pp.), authored by scientific personnel in the office's Deep Vehicles Branch.
