Abstract

This paper represents the design of a hybrid system using advance modulation Differential Phase Shift Keying (DPSK) with different detection techniques. The impact of advance modulation technique based on the bit error rate (BER) performance have been investigated. The effect of Multiple access interference (MAI) and bit noise degrades the performance of the OCDMA/WDM system. Advanced modulation technique DPSK and MDW code sequence have been proposed to reduce MAI and bit noise. Here, we have compared AND subtraction detection and complementary subtraction detection techniques at data bit rate 2.5 Gbps. The simulation results elucidate that the complementary subtraction detection technique performance is better than AND subtraction detection technique where referred BERs 2.19×10-09 and 3.12×10-07 respectively. According to the simulation results, this hybrid system can be considered as a good candidature for GPON Application.
