Abstract
This article considers the importance of rehabilitation in the medical care of elderly patients. It discusses a pilot project being carried out at ‘Policlinico Gemelll’ hospital of Rome, which enables patients to achieve the maximum level of independence and a satisfactory quality of life. The article is published as part of the College of Occupational Therapists' current focus on ‘Equalising Opportunities’.
