Abstract

For personnel dosimetry to Nuclear Research Centre (NRC) workers of the Atomic Energy Authority of Egypt, film badges and whole body counters are in use. In the present study annual exposures to NRC workers are discussed during the period 1988–1993. The average annual external exposures were found to vary from 2.9 mSv to 5.2 mSv. The collective doses were also found to vary from 1.06 to 1.79 man-Sv. Following the new ICRP recommendations, the average exposure to NRC workers over the period from 1989 to 1993 is 20 mSv, while the average annual exposure is 4 mSv, these values are 20% of the dose limits recommended by the new ICRP recommendations.
