Abstract
Using a rotatable three-electrode Mach probe at the outer edge region of the plasma, preliminary observations indicate the existence of a toroidal rotation in the ion flow direction (of the toroidal current) with no comparable poloidal rotation. This rotation cannot be in the direction of the magnetic field, because of the large pitch of the local magnetic field.
