Abstract

New photographs of the B3Σ–u–X3Σ–g system of 32S2 have been taken and fluorescence excited by several argon-ion and krypton-ion laser lines has been recorded. The rotational analysis of one band, the 1–4 band, is given in detail. A deperturbation of the levels of v= 1 in B3Σ–u is described and constants for the perturbing state B″3Πu are derived and discussed. Some of the fluorescence series are assigned to 32S34S in natural abundance.
