High-efficiency single-frequency cw ring dye laser

Abstract

A dye circulation system with a new dye jet nozzle enabling high flow rates is described. Such a system used in a single-mode cw ring dye laser allows to employ as a pump all blue-green lines of argon ion laser. As a consequence the 1.3 W of the single-frequency 580 nm radiation is obtained with 4.6 W of pumping power. This is three times more than the output power obtained by standard pumping with the 514.5 nm green line of the same argon ion laser.
