Abstract
As a contribution to the “PHEMU97” International Campaign, photoelectric observations of the mutual events between the Jupiter satellites are planned at the Astronomy Institute of Catania University. The phenomena will be observed with the 91-cm telescope at the M.G. Fracastoro station of Catania Astrophysical Observatory, using a cooled photon-counting high resolution photoelectric photometer, V filter, and 0.1 sec integration time. The preliminary results of the partial occultation of Europa by Io observed in June 1996 are presented.
