Abstract
Treatment options for management of Drug Refractory Epilepsy are limited and associated with poor results. One of the hypotheses being forwarded for genesis of drug refractoriness in epilepsy is inflammation. In this regard, corticosteroids, well known for their anti-inflammatory and anti-immune properties, have been used with variable results in different epilepsy syndromes. Steroids have also been seen to have a blood brain barrier repair thus helping in better penetration of Anti Epileptic Drugs. Thus, we aim to study the effect of pulse intravenous methylprednisolone in drug refractory epilepsy.
