Abstract

Objective To study the clinical effect of simple cervical local drug delivery and systemic administration in the treatment of female genital chlamydia (CT) positive patients. Methods Seventy-eight female genital CT positive patients admitted in our hospital between February 2014 and July 2015 were randomly divided into control group and observation group, 39 cases in each group. Control group was treated with conventional therapy (oral azithromycin tablets systemic drug therapy), while observation group was treated with azithromycin injection cervical local drug delivery. 7 days as a course of treatment, both groups were treated for 2 courses. The expression changes of related immune factors [defensin 5 (HD-5), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), interleukin 8 (IL-8)] were observed. The curative effect and adverse reactions were compared between two groups. Results After treatment, the levels of HD-5, TNF-α and IL-8 in two groups significantly decreased (P 0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the effective rate between observation group and control group (87.18% vs.79.49%, P>0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in observation group (10.26%) was lower than that in control group (30.77%) (P<0.05). Conclusions The clinical effect of cervical local drug delivery and systemic administration are the same in treating female genital CT positive patients, and both of them can improve the vaginal local immune state. However, cervical local drug delivery has the advantages of convenience and high safety, its comprehensive effect is better than systemic administration. Key words: Genital tract; CT positive; Cervical administration; Systemic administration; Curative effect
