Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical values of Olopatadine combined with Diclofenac Sodium eye drops on the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis. Methods A prospective study,206 cases of allergic conjunctivitis were randomly divided into two groups:103 patients as treatment group received 0.1% Olopatadine twice a day combined with Diclofenac Sodium eye drops four times a day; 103 patients as control group received single 0.1% Olopatadine eye drops twice a day.Patients in both of the group were treated with 1-2 drops each time and use the drug every 5 minutes intervals. The symptoms and signs were evaluated before and after the treatment at 7th day and 14th day, respectively, and the side effects were observed. Results There was no significant difference both group in the general state, mean scores of symptoms and signs before the treatment (t =1.6376,P =0.1031).After the administration, the efficacy rates in the treatment and control group were 69.9% (72/103) and 52.4% (54/103) at 7th day,84.5% (87/103) and 63.1% (65/103) at 14th day respectively. There was significant difference between the treatment and control group in the efficacy rates (x2=6.621,P =0.010; x2=12.147,P <0.001).Conclusions Olopatadine combined with Diclofenac Sodium eye drops have all efficacy and safety to control the allergic conjunctivitis.
