Abstract

Abstract In Germany, heat-generating radioactive waste is intended to be disposed of in the Gorleben repository. With regard to planning and construction of this facility as well as its operational and postoperational phase, safety issues must be taken into account. Emphasis is on the preliminary planning for the Gorleben project and on radiation protection and safety criteria regarding the postclosure phase of this planned repository.
