Abstract

The scope of the project “Development of Data-Free-Way System” that started from April in 1990 is presented. The distributed data base for advanced nuclear materials including metals, ceramics and composites will be constructed within five years under the cooperation of National Research Institute for Metals (NRIM), Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute (JAERI) and Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development Corporation (PNC). At an early stage in 1991, networking to share data in the pilot distributed data bases will be built up among NRIM, JAERI and PNC. The action plan, the data structures and some examples of future utilization for Data-Free-Way are discussed.
