Abstract
Professor Rudolf Mikhailovich Alexakhin passed away on 2 May 2017. He was born on December 15, 1936 in the city Korolev, near Moscow. In 1954, R. Alexakhin graduated from high school with a gold medal and entered Moscow University (Moscow State University). Subsequently, he defended his PhD thesis in 1963 and his dissertation for the degree of doctor of biological sciences in 1974. In 1985, the Higher Attestation Commission of the USSR awarded him the title of Professor in Radiobiology. In 1988, he was elected a member of the All-Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences. From 2014, he was an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
