Abstract

The aim of this article was to analyze the role of the Paraíba Science Park (PaqTcPB) as an innovation intermediary in its ecosystem. This study is justified by the following: (i) science parks are organizations that can induce innovations and, thus, collaborate with the economic and social development process of the regions where they are located, and (ii) scientific production on this topic is in the development stage. Thus, a qualitative descriptive case study was carried out, whose data collection was based on document analysis, participant observation and unstructured interviews. The results describe how PaqTcPB acts in its innovation ecosystem. It was concluded that the PaqTcPB, in the role of intermediary, acts as a promoter and facilitator of innovation in its ecosystem, offering organizations installed or associated with it competitive differentials, promoting a culture of innovation, stimulating entrepreneurship, and fostering the development of its region .
