Abstract
This work is about the occupational status of the first job, analyzing the effect of socioeconomic inheritance, gender and age of the individual on status. The grounding starts from the area of social stratification of Sociology. The study was composed of a representative sample of the Brazilian population and an intentional sample of young people from the metropolitan area of Belo Horizonte, concomitantly. The results problematize the inequalities related to the processes of work and education in adolescence and the beginning of the occupational trajectory of the individuals. Summary
Para Haller e Portes (1973), o status é a posição ocupada pelos indivíduos ou famílias dentro da estratificação social. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam como variáveis mais fortes significativamente as habilidades cognitivas e o gênero (ser homem), mas, no mesmo sentido que essas, mais anos de estudo, pais com níveis educacionais, status ocupacional e rendimentos mais altos, além do nível de influência dos outros significantes e aspirações mais altos favorecem para o desenvolvimento de um perfil empreendedor mais do que de valores burocráticos. Para essa pesquisa foram selecionados todos os chefes do domicílio e os cônjuges, uma vez que esses indivíduos responderam questões relativas à mobilidade social e correspondem àqueles que, geralmente, já atingiram certo grau de autonomia que permitem uma análise do alcance educacional e ocupacional. Foram selecionados os indivíduos com idade entre 14 e 64 anos para as análises descritivas e exploratórias, somando 10.040 casos, uma vez que o estudo está voltado para fenômenos relacionados ao mercado de trabalho.
