Abstract

The present article aims to reflect and promote the debate about events related to the Brazilian Public educational system in the face of the new coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19), in an outline of the official measures taken by the government and the pedagogical strategies in the context of the public Basic Education. Although it isn’t possible to measure the real impacts caused by the pandemic yet, these have already been felt and seen in society, demanding adaptation from all sectors to overcome the present scenery in which Brazil and the world are found.Therefore, a review in literature of already published materials have been used, not only from the educational area, but also related to the new coronavirus pandemic, as well as a descriptive character exploratory approach has been adopted and also dialoguing with Santos, regarding the sociopolitical and structural situation in the world. One can perceive that technology may be a great ally in mitigate the pandemic’s impact upon the educational area. However, all the possible strategies must be thought and reflected under different perspectives, strictly considering all existing the pros and cons, in order for the possible solution not to imply prejudices to the learning of those students who, for several circumstances, are not contemplated by the public actions because of the distortions in the social realities experienced by the Brazilian population.
