Abstract

The objective of this work was to analyze the context of use of the term Community Archives, based on the scientific production in the period 2008-2021 of three members of the Archival Education Research Initiative(AERI)discursive community. The methodology is exploratory and descriptive, and made use of Hjorland's Domain Analysis in the terminologicaldimension, but with apunctual focus. As for results, it was possible to reach ten categories in total. The predominance was the category of the political dimension with 81.25% of the works, in a corpus of 16 articles. This shows a dimension of engagement, so that it is possible to understand that, considering the context of use of the term community archives in the discursive community of AERI, this theme has meanings of actions aimed at marginalized social groups, since the emphasis given lies in the perspective of making thehistory of such groups accessible, based on their own ways of acting in political activism
