Abstract

May 12 marks the International Nurses Day, in recognition of those who make up a large and in-demand sector of healthcare professionals. At the end of the 20th - beginning of the 21st century, in the Orenburg Region, mid-level medical specialists were trained in seven majors, with nursing being the leading one. The study of the training programs revealed an increase in the amount of theory by more than 40% with unchanged production and professional practice and a decrease in practical workload of about 20%. The academic load in special disciplines was reduced by 7%. At the same time, the GOST programs of an increased level in Nursing have a clinical focus. Against the background of the introduction of new disciplines in nursing, the problem of expediency for future professional activity and consistency with the requirements for the professional competence of a nurse professional has been identified. It was revealed that the increase in the academic load is aimed at solving the problems of improving the quality of nursing staff training. Professional training standards determined the need to take into account the factors that form the demand for nursing medical services.
