Abstract

Objective To explore the methods and efficacy of nursing intervention for treatment compliance in patients undergoing endoscopic sinus surgery,and to provide guidance for clinical care.Methods The data on 80 patients who had treated with endoscopic sinus surgery during the period of January 2010 to June 2010 were retrospectively analyzed,The patients were randomly assigned to receive comprehensive nursing intervention ( 40 patients,study group ),or routine nursing intervention ( 40 patients,control group ),and then were followed up for 6 months to one year,The cognitive and behavioral changes were compared between the two groups and changes in treatment compliance were recorded.Results During a follow-up,patient compliance was better in the two groups after receiving nursing intervention,with a significant statistical difference ( P < 0.05 ); patient compliance was better in the study group than in the control group,with a significant statistical difference ( P< 0.05 ).The study group was superior to the control group in cognitive and behavioral changes,with a significant statistical difference ( P < 0.05 ).Conclusions Early nursing intervention with comprehensive measures for endoscopic sinus surgery can effective enhance treatment compliance in patients,improve cognition and behavior,and increase quality of life,and is worth popularizing in clinical care.
