Abstract
This initiative established leadership infrastructures supporting nursing innovation, including an electronic innovation submission platform and development pathway, a novel digital education virtual reality application, and an assessment of innovation culture. A nurse-led stakeholder committee reviewed 12 submissions, with 4 ideas mentored through the organization’s invention disclosure process. A nurse-led team designed an innovative virtual reality product allowing unrestricted access to education. Nurses within this organization increasingly identify as innovators; however, there was a decreased intent to participate in future innovation activities after initial engagement. These findings underscore the need for ongoing support and strategies to sustain nurse engagement in innovation.
