Abstract
Looking for something special for our December edition of BJN, I came across the following accounts of concern about life in British prisons. In the editorial of BJN (dated 14 December 1907), the journal, as the official organ of the International Council of Nurses, sent Christmas greetings to nurses in many parts of the world. Included in this long list of nursing friends and supporters was a paragraph at the end referring to prisons and prisoners
