Abstract

Abstract Chinese society, highly modern in many urban areas and yet very rural in most regions, is undergoing changes due to its evolving political and economic environment. Nursing has largely been a trade occupation taught in junior high schools. The increasing pressure on the health care system is driving changes in both the practice and the education of nurses. This article describes nursing education in China and some of the trends impacting health care.
