Abstract

John McKay Moore, better known as “Dinty” or “Mac,” died in East Lansing, Michigan, July 3. He was born in Strathroy, Ontario, Canada, June 8, 1894. During World War I he served with the Canadian Expeditionary Force from 1915 to 1918.He received an Associate Diploma at the Ontario Agricultural College in 1920, a B.S.A. degree from the University of Toronto (Ontario Agricultural College) in 1923, and an M.S. degree from Kansas State College in 1925.He joined the Poultry Husbandry Department at Michigan State College, now University, in 1923, and returned in September, 1925, after completing graduate work. He retired in January, 1958, having spent his entire career at Michigan State in research and cooperative extension service. For one year, beginning September 30, 1951, he was on leave of absence with Michigan Broilers, Inc., to establish a hatchery, growing and processing service.
