Abstract

Norman Ripley Mehrhof of Gainesville, Florida, Poultry Science Professor Emeritus and Poultry Science Association Fellow, died February 1, 1995, in Augusta, Georgia. He was 95.Born December 13, 1899 in Ridgefield, NJ, he received the B.S. degree from Rutgers University in 1921 and the M.S. degree from North Carolina State University in 1925. He was Extension Poultryman at Clemson College in 1921–22 and Assistant Professor of Poultry Husbandry at Rutgers University in 1923–24. In 1924 he became Extension Poultryman at the University of Florida and was named Head of the Poultry Division of the Department of Animal Husbandry in 1935. “Prof” served as Head of the University of Florida Poultry Science Department from 1944 until his retirement in 1963.
