Numerical Strategy For The System Of Second Order Ivps Using RK Method Based On Centroidal Mean

Abstract

In this paper, we present numerical solution for second order initial value type ordinary differential equations (ODE) using fourth order Runge-Kutta method based on Centroidal Mean (RKCeM). To illustrate the effectiveness of the method, six problems have been chosen and compared with the RK methods based on Arithmetic Mean. Also, the applicability of the RKCeM has been discussed. The investigation undertaken in this study reveals that the RKCeM suits well for the second order initial value type ODE problems.
