Abstract

The current research work identifies a novel combination of perovskite solar cell (PSC) layers that improves the effectiveness of a solar cell. In this research work, analysis and optimization of the results for a CH3NH3PbI3 perovskite-based solar cell is performed using SCAPS 1D modelling software. The impact of varying multiple characteristics including band gap, thickness, and total defect density on the effectiveness of a PSC has been studied and analysed. In terms of performance parameters, the current research work's findings are promising. The proposed structure attains an open circuit voltage (VOC) of 1.112 V along with a short circuit current density (JSC) of 26.02 mA/cm2. Consequently, the proposed simulated structure has a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 26.11% and 86.27% value of fill factor.
