Abstract

The steady operation and extended service lives of rocket sled test systems are impacted by the tribological performances of the rocket sled sliders. In this work, CoCrNi and CoCrFeMnNi alloys were considered candidate materials for rocket sled sliders serving under high-speed and heavy-load conditions. The simulation analysis was carried out by ANSYS. The results showed that the stress on the contact surface was uneven, and there were stress gradient changed and stress concentration. Significant wear occurred on the front-end of the slider. The results of this work can serve as a reference for practical engineering applications involving rocket sled sliders.
