Abstract

AbstractThe issues of speed-torque characteristics determination of the torque motor with the tape winding stator are considered. The complexity of analytical determination of such characteristics is associated with the distributed character of current flowing along the winding. It leads to use numerical research methods, in particular the finite element method software COMSOL Multiphysics. Attention is paid to the change in the motor-developed torque in the presence of the electromotive force (EMF) created in the winding during the rotor rotation. An accounting method of the rotation, EMF action on the torque value is proposed. It is shown that the torque depends mainly on the distributed current lines character when the rotor velocity changes. The obtained speed-torque characteristics are similar to the independent excitation DC motors. The obtained results make it possible to evaluate the characteristics of the motor model and are the basis for the tape winding torque motor calculating method development.KeywordsTorque motorTape windingElectromotive force (EMF)Numerical simulationSpeed-torque characteristics
