Abstract

Specific sea areas, such as Lvhua Island, are characterized by economic and social benefits associated with a threat affected by oil particles that spread under the influence of tidal currents and wind. In order to properly address the issue of oil spill accidents and study the hazard, a 2D hydrodynamic model in Lvhua Island and its surrounding area is built with MIKE 21. A particle tracking model, MIKE 21 Particle Tracking (PT), is used to establish the prediction model for oil spill accidents. The sweeping area, the drift trajectory of oil film, and its impact on the environment are analyzed when an oil spill occurs under SE wind at different time. In the case of high tide, after 6 hours of the oil spill, sensitive areas of West Lvhua Island begin to be affected. In the event of the ebb tide, the sensitive areas near Huaniao Island are relatively less affected, and the oil particles do not significantly affect the sensitive areas 12 hours after the oil spill.
