Abstract

For the information acquisition of the whole motion of a projectile with sliding driving band in gun bore, the nonlinear dynamic explicit finite element software LS-DYNA was used. The pressure-time curve in bore is equivalent to the boundary input condition of the gun, and the large deformation process of projectile driving band is described by ALE algorithm. The simulation results show that a number of calculated data are in good agreement with the experimental values, providing a reference basis for the design and simulation of similar guns.
