Abstract

The microwave electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) plasma cathode electron beam source is an electron beam extraction and control device based on magnetic confinement plasma, which has high ionization degree, no material cathode, multiple operating gas types and wide working pressure range. It is expected to solve the problem that the traditional electron beam source is difficult to meet the requirements of special occasions. The research on the characteristics and control methods of the new electron beam source is conducive to the application of the newly developed high-energy beam rapid prototyping technology, such as space platform self-sustaining and fleet deep-sea recharge, which is of great significance to national defense and aerospace. In this paper, an accurate electron beam extraction acceleration simulation model is established. The influence of electrode design parameters on the electron beam parameters is analyzed by using the model. The precise magnetic focusing and magnetic deflection simulation models are established. The coil design parameters and magnetic control parameters are analyzed. Influence of parameters such as beam shape change, electron beam focus position, final beam spot size of electron beam, and final beam spot position.
