Abstract

We present accurate numerical methods for calculating the one boson and the one fermion loop energy in a static, spherically symmetric background field for a simple theory of fermions interacting with bosons through Yukawa coupling. Various FORTRAN codes have been developed and tested for the calculations. The methods presented here should be useful in general problems involving one loop quantum corrections, and in other problems where one needs to calculate the Green's function for a particle moving in a background field.
