Abstract

A new technique for assessing the strain state of metals is described using the technology of cold rolling with inclined rolls, providing for joint use of mathematical modeling methods and scanning probe microscopy. Details with flanges are produced by means of cold rolling with inclined rolls technology of pipe workpieces. The Gleeble 3800 was used to determine cold ductility of a copper alloy L-68, the DEFORM 3D software was used for determining the values of effective strain when rolling. The morphology of strain deformed surface layers cross section of details is investigated by means of atomic force microscopy (AFM). The values of quantity of heights magnitude and surface roughness expressing parameter are calculated. Fractal analysis on the surface of the structures is performed by means of AFM. The results of diagnosis by AFM and the calculations in software complex on DEFORM-3D were compared. The relations between statistical parameters and parameters of strain state of the material are established.
