Abstract

The article presents the experimental examination results of the rubber bumpers compression. The aim of research was todetermine a basic stiffness characteristics under variable strain rate. Obtained curves were used afterwards for adjustment ofthenumerical model of the buffers. The adjustment of the model consisted in identifying relevant material parameters describing the behaviour of a rubber during the deformation. Proper material model was selected. The final result of the study was obtaining refined and improved numerical model of the rubber buffers, that has provided results comparable totheexperimental examination.
