Abstract

In this study, we used the commercial CFD-code FLUENT to analyze numerically the hydrogen combustion and SiO 2 particle formation in the premixed flame reactor. We considered SiCl 4 as a precursor for SiO 2 particle formation and calculated the profiles of fluid flow, temperature, species concentration and reaction rates for 2D premixed reactor model in FLUENT. Using the data for temperature and velocity extracted from FLUENT, we calculated the trajectories and temperature histories of SiO 2 particles moving inside the premixed flame reactor and those particles starting near the centerline of reactor pass through the maximum temperature histories.
