Abstract

Rolling piston compressors, which are widely used in refrigeration systems, contain a vane-vane slot friction pair that significantly affects its mechanical efficiency and reliability. In this study, a new simulation model considering the deformation and detailed groove design of the vane-vane slot system is presented. The simulation results show that the vane slot's maximum wear depth increased by approximately 110% after considering the deformation. The optimal design of the vertical groove can reduce friction loss and wear. Compared with the situation without a vertical groove, the optimal vertical groove design can reduce the friction loss of the vane by 17.59%, and manufacturers have begun to adopt this scheme.
