Abstract
Surface plasmon polariton (SPP) based on metal-dielectric interface can greatly enhance the evanescent fleld, and so its propagation control is very important. SPP on the ∞at and structured silver fllm is numerically studied by 2D flnite-difierence time-domain method. Conflned SPP distributions of two kinds of structured silver fllms demonstrate a virtual probe with a constant size of 140nm. The in∞uencing factors, modulation depth and incident spot size, are discussed. DOI: 10.2529/PIERS060906204424
