The failure time of the operating unit and the repair time of the failed unit are assumed to be independent random variables with general distribution functions. If one unit is in operation the repaired standby unit has a constant failure rate, There is only one repair facility for the 2 units. The number of repairs completed In a period and the total repair time are studied.
