Abstract
In this paper we introduce a reference along a degenerate curve (null or non null) in an n-dimensional Lorentzian space with the minimun number of curvatures. That reference is called the Cartan frame of the curve. In the Lorentzian space forms case, we obtain a complete classification of helices (that is, curves with constant Cartan curvatures) in low dimensions. In all cases we present existence, uniqueness and congruence theorems.
